The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus is the new name for the midsize crossover SUV, the Lincoln MKX. Along with the name change, Lincoln gave the vehicle a bolder, more appealing grille along with a punchier engine and new technology. It also comes with fancy new safety features.
Lincoln is offering the 2019 Nautilus in four different trim levels, which include a base, Select model and Reserve model. If you decide to go with the base model, you'll be driving around in a fairly upgraded SUV with plenty of safety features. You'll even get conveniences like keyless ignition, an 8-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10-speaker sound system.
The Select trim upgrades your ride with LED headlights and fog lights. You'll also get Lincoln's Embrace II package. This comes with niceties like remote software updates and a special headlight initiating sequence. You'll also enjoy the vehicle's leather seats, wireless charging pad, and enhanced security package.
If you spring for Lincoln's Reserve trim, you'll have an SUV with 20-inch wheels and an adaptive suspension. You'll also get heated and ventilated seats in addition to a panoramic sunroof and towing package. The SUV can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
The vehicle can hold five passengers, and it does so with plenty of leg and headroom. It has acoustic glass to cut down on exterior noise and increase ride comfort. Lincoln is equipping the SUV with driver-adjustable settings, which are Comfort, Normal, and Sport. This feature gives you more control over your ride and driving experience. Lincoln has a nice app available for vehicle owners. With it, you'll be able to lock, locate, unlock, and start your SUV's engine. It keeps an eye on the fuel levels, tire pressure and allows you to make your vehicle payments.
A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque is the standard engine for all of the vehicle's trim models. If you upgrade to the Select trim level, you will be able to purchase one with a 2.7-liter V6 engine. It generates 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. If you choose a Nautilus with the 2.0-liter engine, then the fuel economy is 21 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. The 2.7-liter engine gets 18 miles per gallon when driving in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the open road. As you test drive the vehicle, you'll notice that both engines have a comfortable amount of acceleration. Along with this, each engine is partnered with an efficient 8-speed automatic transmission. You should be fine with the 2.0-liter engine unless you are planning to tow with the SUV.
Lincoln is including features like blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist and forward collision warning systems with the base Nautilus. The carmaker also offers automatic emergency braking and evasive steer assist. You'll appreciate the SUV's steering, which is nicely-weighted. This increases safety since it prevents things like over correcting. You are unlikely to notice any amount of body roll when driving down winding roads since the vehicle's steering corrections are predictable and smooth. The 2019 Nautilus is an SUV with a noticeable road presence, one that you are sure to love.
