Every year, Aug. 15 marks National Relaxation Day. Americans are encouraged to pause, take a deep breath, and do whatever helps them relax and unwind. The premise of National Relaxation Day is that stress is increasingly prevalent in our daily lives, but few people take time out of their day to relax and reduce stress levels. This year, Lincoln participated in National Relaxation Day by encouraging people to unwind in a Lincoln vehicle while enjoying all the relaxation-inspiring features and components that Lincoln offers.
How Did Lincoln Participate in National Relaxation Day?
Lincoln chose two of its vehicles – the 2025 Lincoln Navigator and the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus – to showcase for National Relaxation Day. Lincoln selected both vehicles for their relaxation-inspiring components that include both physical and multi-sensory creature comforts. Both vehicles stand out for their remarkably soft and supportive seats, along with their advanced multi-sensory technology.
Aside from simply highlighting the relaxation features that its two vehicles offer, Lincoln partnered with researchers at Purdue University to conduct a study to determine if participants truly had a physiological response to their relaxation-inspiring atmosphere. The experiment consisted of a control group with 43 participants. The group included a control group, a second group that used Lincoln’s Rejuvenate multi-sensory technology without the additional scent therapy, and a third group that used Rejuvenate with its accompanying scent therapy.
Most participants in the study (98%) said that they preferred the relaxation technologies found in Lincoln’s vehicles over their control environment. Over half (62%) expressed an interest in continuing to use Lincoln’s technology on a regular basis. Along with the self-reported benefits that participants experienced during the study, researchers also found that both groups using the Rejuvenate therapy had slower heart rates and brainwave patterns that are associated with other calming techniques like practicing meditation, sitting in a calm and peaceful environment, stretching, or listening to calm music.
About Rejuvenate Technology
Lincoln’s Rejuvenate technology features several different themes that are designed to create a calming and relaxing experience. One is called “Aurora Borealis,” which is a visual and auditory sensory experience that inspires calmness and relaxation. Another is “Elements,” which takes participants on a virtual journey utilizing elements in nature. Last is “Waterfall Meditation,” which is designed to inspire relaxation using the sounds of cascading water.
Ultimately, Lincoln says that its technologies are designed to help people relax every day, not just on Aug. 15, and they showcase Lincoln’s technology as an important relaxation tool.
