Lincoln Motor Company is pairing up with Shinola to create an Aviator concept SUV for the automotive market. It's equipped with interior materials that are inspired by high-end Shinola products that include quartz watches, bicycles, and bags. Lincoln was impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of the Shinola line. They pay a large amount of attention to detail and hand-finishing items.
Shinola was originally a watch brand, but they chose to expand to bikes, bags, and other accessories. Their style is making way for unique features in the Aviator, including a two-tone interior that boasts cognac-colored leather, piping, and cream inserts. The concept Lincoln Aviator has a brilliant white exterior that resembles the mother-of-pearl color on the face of Shinola watches. There are pieces of copper trim instead of the typical chrome on wheels, roof racks, and the front grille. This is thanks to the design of the rivets and seats on Shinola bicycles. The final product is very tasteful and classy.
The Aviator concept car is set to debut at Pebble Beach in August. There is no current release date set for this vehicle. Rather, Lincoln is trying to gauge the interest that people will have for this vehicle to see if it should be pursued by way of Lincoln's interest in releasing vehicles that are different from everything else that's currently on the market.
