The Lincoln Star EV project is now undergoing testing for upcoming readiness. This will be the first EV for Lincoln and one of the first to use the new architecture from Ford. There are quite a few innovative ideas coming out of this project.
Lincoln Star
Some of the new ideas for this vehicle include taking off the grill and testing see-through trunks, which you could encounter with Lincoln Evs in the future. Instead of either a sedan or an SUV, you're getting something new for the new EV.
Lincoln is planning to add three new EVs by the end of 2025. Many of the new EVs will be "informed by the Star. Lincoln is happy to be at the front of innovation as they are doing things like eliminating the grille. This allows them to have more flexibility in the design while still having all the elegance and luxury that the customers expect.
The design of the grille is usually connected to the combustion engine anyway, so it made sense to the Lincoln designers to take a breather from adding these elements. Many designers have said that you may not need them at all anymore. Inside this new concept are two rows of seats for five people, but in larger vehicles, they often add a third row.
Part of this concept will include something in the interior called "Rejuvenation modes." The way these things work is that they use lights, sounds, and scents to help create moods for people in the back of the vehicle. Some examples of these include the Coastal morning one, which has a scent of sea mist and lightning combined with gentle sea sounds and the light from strolling along a beach at sunrise.
There are a few of these, and, likely, more will also develop over time. Another one is the evening chill, which has a calming soundtrack connected to a night sky video and evergreen scents.
Trunk
The see-through front trunk becomes clear when it's moving through the use of electrochromic glass. This offers more natural light through the cabin.
