Lincoln Engine Not Working

There are few things more frustrating than finding out that your car won't start. In some cases, fixing the problem requires little more than filling up the gas tank or cleaning the battery terminals. However, there are times when it isn't obvious why you aren't getting any response when you turn the key in the ignition.

Is the Battery Dead?

If you don't hear anything when you turn the key, that's a strong indication that your battery is dead. It's important to note that car batteries can completely fail mere hours after being strong enough to get your home from work, school, or the mall. A sudden failure may result from exposure to extreme temperatures, old age, or a parasitic drain. Ideally, you'll take the battery to our service center for testing to ensure that replacing it will solve your problem.

Is the Starter Bad?

If you hear a clicking noise after turning the key, there is a good chance that the starter isn't working correctly. In some cases, the engine isn't able to engage because this component is loose or covered in liquid. It may be possible to put a loose starter back into place as opposed to replacing it. However, you will likely need to take out a wet starter and replace it with a new one to prevent secondary problems from occurring.

The Ignition Might Be the Culprit

A defective ignition switch could be why your car isn't starting despite the fact that the car's battery is working properly. You may also notice that the headlights, radio, and other electrical components are still operational despite the fact that the engine won't start.

Have the Fuel Filter Inspected

Generally speaking, a fuel filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles. As the filter ages, it can become less effective at allowing a sufficient amount of gas to reach your engine.

Check the Gas Tank

When your gas tank is empty, the car won't start even if everything else is in working order. Your car may also struggle to start if the tank is filled with gas that is more than 90 days old.

If you are unsure as to why your vehicle won't start, bring it to our service center right away. A trained technician will diagnose the problem in a timely, friendly, and affordable manner.
